Tactical Moto Rodeo is a motorcycle training course designed for intermediate riders who have already completed a beginner course and are ready to elevate their skills to the next level. Drawing from the proven training methods used by police motor oficers, this course emphasizes precision, control and real-world emergency handling.
Key focus areas include:
- Slow-speed mastery: Friction zone control, rear brake dragging, counterbalancing, and visual directional control
- Emergency maneuvers: Quick stops and swerving for crash avoidance
- Each time you return to our course, you will experience fresh layouts and exercises, ensuring you learn new techniques and challenges every time you attend. The course builds progressively and concludes with the legendary "Rat Race" — an exciting, time trial maze that tests your skills in a fun, competitive format.
Perfect for riders seeking higher level moto proficiency for survival in the dynamic traffic environments of Southern California. Come sharpen your skills and experience the thrills!
Prerequisites:
- 3 months or 1,000 miles of riding experience. Attending a beginner motorcycle course prior to this course is strongly recommended.
- Must have a basic level of proficiency with counter-steering and use of the Friction Zone.
- A valid motorcycle license.
A motorcycle in good condition:
- Street legal
- Registered and insured
- Tires must have enough tread
- No leaks of any kind
Bikes will be inspected before course. Crash Bars or Frame Sliders are strongly recommended.
Proper protective riding gear:
- DOT approved helmet
- Full finger, motorcycle specific gloves for road riding
- Riding jacket
- Sturdy pants
- Over the ankle boots with padding around ankles

- Trail Braking: Advanced brake application while leaned over to maintain stability, adjust speed and help the bike turn easily. Visual Directional Control — Using precise head turns and vision techniques to guide the bike intuitively and accurately through complex maneuvers.
